AC installation and replacement in Highland Park

Replacing a system in Highland Park is as much about fit as equipment: tight mechanical closets, attic units above finished space and original ductwork mean a modern system has to be planned to fit and breathe properly. We work that out before install day, not during it.

Park Cities homes have tight mechanical closets, attic units above finished space, and older ductwork tucked into original construction. Getting a modern system to fit and breathe properly is as much of the job as the equipment itself, and it's the part we plan for before install day.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Send what you have

Text a photo of the outdoor unit's data plate and your address, or book a visit. That's usually enough to know what's there now.

  2. Step 2

    Size it for the house

We size from the house and the duct layout, not just the old nameplate, and quote a matched system: outdoor unit, coil and furnace or air handler that belong together.

  3. Step 3

    Install day

Most single-system replacements are done in a day. Old equipment is hauled away.

  4. Step 4

    Start it up properly

The new system is started, charged and checked before we leave, and you're shown how it runs.

Questions Highland Park homeowners ask

My AC is running but not cooling. Do I need a new system?

Not necessarily. The most common reasons a system stops cooling are a clogged condensate drain line, a dirty air filter, and a failed capacitor. Check the drain line first: when it clogs, the float switch shuts the system off on purpose, and running a drain line cleaner through it can save you a visit and a trip charge. Then check the filter, since a clogged one can freeze the coil. If both look fine, it's often the capacitor on the outdoor unit. Leave that one to a technician, because it holds a charge even with the power off. Not sure what you're looking at? Book a video call and we'll walk you through it.

How long does an AC replacement take?

Most single-system changeouts are done in one day. Two-system homes, or jobs that need duct or electrical changes, can take longer; we'll tell you up front.

What size system do I need?

It depends on the house more than the old unit. We size from the square footage, the layout and the ductwork, and we'll tell you if the existing system was the wrong size to begin with.

Should I replace both systems at once?

Not automatically. If both units are the same age and the second is close behind, doing them together can make sense; if not, we replace the one that failed and tell you honestly how the other one looks.

Is financing available?

Yes. See the financing page for current options, or ask when you get your quote.
